Endangered and Extinct
The list of Australian mammals from vulnerable
to extinct. Australia is a truly wonderful country and it's
isolation from the rest of the world has produced some unique
and incredible species. The price of ignorance 200 years
ago has, however, cost the lives of many animals. We do
have a very real opportunity to correct the mistakes of the
past and revive the ones that remain,
for more please visit
our Feral Eradication page. This is a list of mammals
only, we have not included reptiles, insects, birds, plants
etc, quite frankly it makes for a sobering reading experience.
This is only for one country and Australia is fairly typical
of what has and is happening all over the world.
Take a moment to read these lists, especially the extinct
list, and remember that extinction means forever, we will never see these animals
again. |
